If endometriosis has a big impact on your life, you might be able to claim a benefit called Personal Independence Payment.

Personal Independence Payment is a benefit for disabled people. It is sometimes called PIP.

The Department for Work and Pensions will assess you. This means that someone will check how much your endometriosis affects your mental health and your physical health. When they have assessed you they will decide if you can claim PIP.

If you can claim PIP, it can help you pay for extra things you might need, like.

  • Extra period products – like tampons or pads
  • Or to help you to pay for taxis for you to get to work.

You can get PIP if you go to work or if you do not go to work.

If you cannot work you might also be able to get money from the government called Universal Credit. This is a different type of payment from PIP.
