Endometriosis is a disease that can badly affect your life but this does not mean that it is always called a disability.

If you have very bad symptoms that mean that it is hard to do normal things like go to school or work then you can still get help even if you are not disabled.

Equality

Equality means that everyone should have the same chances to do things that they want to do.

The Equality Act is a law that the government made to make sure that all people are treated fairly. This includes people who have endometriosis or bad symptoms of endometriosis.

There are lots of reasons that people might be treated differently or unfairly. It might  be because they are:

  • A woman or a man
  • People of different races.
  • Disabled people
  • People with different religions or beliefs
  • People of different ages.
  • Lesbian, gay and bisexual and straight people.
  • People who have changed their sex.
