Your employer has to make sure that the place where you work is a safe place for you.

This means that if you have endometriosis your employer should make sure that you are comfortable enough to do your job. This might mean doing things like.

  • Moving your desk closer to a toilet.
  • Giving you more breaks if you need them to take medicine or change period products, like tampons or pads.
  • Letting you work from home if this is something that you can do.

Sometimes it can be hard to talk to your employer about personal problems. There are some things you can do that might make it easier to talk to your employer.

  • You could take a leaflet about endometriosis to work with you and ask your employer to read it and talk about it with you. You can find a leaflet about endometriosis to show your employer here.
  • You could ask a friend or someone you trust in work to come with you to help you talk to your employer.
  • You could talk to your Human Resources (HR) department to find out what they can do to help.
