Will pregnancy cure endometriosis?
This is a very old-fashioned idea. The theory behind it was that the hormones released when pregnant and breast-feeding stopped you from having a menstrual cycle (i.e. you don’t have periods). This can help to reduce symptoms for some people. However, for those who have a lot of adhesions, for example, their symptoms may get worse as the pregnancy continues.
Many people report their symptoms returned after giving birth and stopping breastfeeding. The decision to get pregnant and have a baby is a very significant one and it should not be suggested as a treatment or cure for endometriosis.
